Graphic Design I
My creative process in designing is not that simple. I take a memory, action, or something that I love and use that to create something beautiful. One of my passions is music, and I often try to incorporate that into my design any way that I can, so that I can have the flow of the music that I compose into a form of art.
Hierarchy
In this project, we had to take a picture of our hand, then give a snippet of our life's story and put words that describe us as a person.
Line, Shape, and Color
For this project, we started off by using the pen tool to create a silhouette of someone that we admired, and we would put them in a scene doing what they did.
Symmetry / Asymmetry
In this assignment, we were assigned to create symmetry and asymmetry examples using a rubric.
Patterns
In this, we were assigned to create 4 different patterns using the same color scheme and had to look like they were from the same family.
Color Scheme Brainstorming
For this, we had to create 9 different images within the color scheme, i.e using only primary colors, secondary colors, tertiary colors, complimentary, analogous and so on. We had one free space to do whatever we desired using any colors.
Not the Color Wheel
In this project, we had to create a design of something that we wanted to express, but not use any colors on the color wheel, meaning that we had to use in-between colors, where its not quite red or not quite green and so on. For mine, it shows that music is a form of life, so I had a treble clef with a bunch of base clefs popping out everywhere, and having the entire thing rooted into the ground.
Type and Color
In this assessment, we had to use 3 different letters and a color palette of our choosing, 4 colors plus black, and create a design out of the letters.
Letterform Abstraction
In this assignment, we had to use one letter and make it look like its not the letter that it really is, without bending or messing with it, only being able to change the size and rotation.
Type History Poster
In this assignment, we had to create a poster using one font at least 50 years old and we had to use the font and show what it was used for. I did the Pac-Man font for this project and created a Pac-Man arcade machine.
